I would of thought giving up our supers and not using them until a critical moment is pretty selfless... I don't rely solely on self-res, it's not like it regenerates in seconds, I just play smarter and use my guns wiser to help my team. If something goes wrong, especially in a nightfall, ill use my super to prevent restarting.
As for raids... Not being able to revive during hard mode, I think being able to using self-res is pretty good.

Not using your supers isn't selfless because you're not generating orbs for your team mates. It's selfish. Try leaving self-res behind for a bit and using the other perks instead - you'll never look back.

You don't need to rely on on generating orbs and using supers anyway, The teams I play with hardly use them
