Pre-DLC "Old" Gear
All old legendary weapons owned by the player get a 5% Attack Boost (315) unlocked by another upgrade node with Ascendant Materials.
As such, Legendary weapons still remain relevant (at least for a while).
Old Legendary Armor gets a +2 Light boost unlocked by another upgrade node with Ascendant Materials
All old Exotic Weapons get a 5% Attack Boost unlocked by another upgrade node with Ascendant Materials
All old Exotic Armor gets a +3 Light unlocked by another upgrade node with Ascendant Materials, resulting in light level 31 gear
3 or more fully upgraded pieces of VoG Raid Armor create a synergy effect to boost each piece's stats by +3 Light.
As such, four pieces of raid armor, or three plus one upgraded old exotic (see above) would get you to light level 31
3 fully upgraded old legendary pieces of Armor (after boost - see above - each 29 Light) plus one upgraded old Exotic (33 Light) would get you to Light Level 30
Loot Tables
All old Exotics are purged from the loot table and replaced with higher stats versions for drops/sale, except for Vaut of Glass Normal Mode (those Exotics remain old ones):
317-345 ATK (15% more as old max 300, 10% more than post-dlc upgraded old exotic/legendary weapons; see above)
33-36 Light
New Legendary items with higher stats (290-345 ATK / 27-33 Light) are replacing the current items/versions as drops, except for raid gear and weapons.
New Rare items with higher stats (270-294 ATK / max 27 Light) replace current items as drops.
Vendors
Vendors get access to new, higher stats gear (290-345 ATK / 27-33 Light), but they only become available for purchase after finishing a quest line for the Vendor/Faction akin to Urn of Sacrifice, which will award marks and reputation
Vendors sell, once unlocked through quest, new, higher stats items (290-345 ATK / 30-33 Light) for a commendation and a minimum of 125 marks, each.
Only two pieces of new legendary gear can be bought each week per character.
Xur's Exotics
Xur can only upgrade fully upgraded old exotics. The upgrade costs glimmer, plus one exotic shard, which is then integrated into the last upgrade node on the new, stronger, but unleveled exotic.
As such, to fully upgrade the new upgraded exotic, you do not need another exotic shard, but will need to unlock the nodes through XP.
Additionally, upgraded exotics level 25% faster until the second damage/defense upgrade, the one after the exotic perk.
Buying a new exotic will cost (a bit) less coins but one additional exotic shard. Bought exotics will need another exotic shard for the last node to be fully upgraded and will not get a leveling boost
Found new exotics will need another exotic shard for the last node to be fully upgraded and will not get a leveling boost
Quests
The Urn of Sacrifice returns every three weeks, rewarding people with new legendary gear upon completion. Requirements and rewards for completion vary/rotate
The new Raid
New Raid Armor starts with 30 (of 36) light, but can be upgraded to 33 WITHOUT the need for Radiant Materials, but 32 to 33 will require Ascendant Materials
New Raid weapons start at 315 ATK, and can be upgraded to 330 WITHOUT the use of Radiant Materials, but 320 to 330 will require Ascendant Materials.
The Old Raid: Vault of Glass
Vault of Glass on Hard Mode drops Level 31 variants of all Raid Gear, including Exotics.
Vault of Glass on Normal drops stay the same (Level 30 gear, old Legendarys and Exoitcs).
So. I put it up. Now shoot it down.
