The darkness, the evil hatred that wiped out our golden age. Where did it come from? What does it want with us? If we run and leave the traveler will it follow? These are my interpretations on the Darkness and what it wants and where it comes from. The darkness is the "dark mirror" of the traveler that xur speaks about. It comes from a parallel world made of anitmatter. everything in this world is the almost exactly the same. the alien races and placement of the planets are still there, but what they look like and what they stand for [b]may[/b] be different from our own versions of them. In this world, which i will from this point in this chapter be referring to as AU(alternate universe), there are beings that we see in ours. The most noteable of these are the vex, they do not come from the PU(primary universe) they come from AU always worshiping the darkness. they understand that the darkness like the traveler uses the atoms of the world to its own will. They aspire to be like it, they worship it and try to make themselves into its own image. There are also the gods of the hive, our hive have glimpsed into AU and seen greatness in their parallel versions. I will go into further detail about the gods of the hive and our fight with crota in the history chapter. The darkness has a strong loathing for matter, and using its vex it came to our world PU to destroy it. It came to our world through a what i refer to as a bridge in the black garden, perhaps the black garden itself was the bridge. It took great effort to do perform this act and was called the "black heart" in its weakened state. i will go further into this in the chapter: history. The darkness is physical, but with it comes the aura of antimatter that can be devastating and changing.
