I go with rockets because it's a quick 2-4 kills then I'm back to my primary. Hawkmoon/thorn is more fun than an lmg.
Edit: I use hunger of crota or ghorn.

You can get way more kills with an LMG, trust me

I'm sure lmgs can get a good amount of kills but I have more fun playing with a HC. So I'd rather use up my heavy fast and get back to my primary.
