I'll admit it - I like auto rifles. There's nothing I like more than vomiting a continuous stream of bullets in a knight's face and watching it reel back in agony, only to reload in a split second and do it again. And Crucible? A hail of lead is pretty effective at stopping you from jumping through that window on Firebase Delphi when you try to make a beeline for B, my friend. But at some point, through boredom or sheer foolhardiness, I got rid of all my legendary weapons on my secondary character that were maxed at 300. I figured I'd get a legendary from Crota sooner or later, so I might as well try something new. It just so happened that I had a rare pulse rifle in my possession, an Evergreen 1.11, and I decided to take it for a spin while doing some vanguard bounties.
I was floored.
Not only was it more stable than the primary I had on her before, allowing for tons of headshots in rapid succession, but it was powerful enough that I could take her through missions that she had been hard-pressed to do before with her lowly New Monarchy scout rifle. Shortly after I received a 123 Syzygy from Rahool and took it through the Crucible. I got my highest k/d ratio EVER, including some spectacular performances in Iron Banner. My Bad Juju absolutely cleans house in Crota's End with its infinite torrent of Thrall-killing fury, and mixed with an Obsidian Mind the Nova Bombs come pretty consistently. And now I find myself grinding through rumble matches just so I can get myself a Three Little Words.
I'm sold, friends. Try as I might I don't see myself going back at this point, at least with that particular character. To you who owned a pulse rifle before I did and knew of these things of which I speak, I am truly sorry. You are champions.
