(last games I cared about were FFXI before Aht Urghan and FFXIV 1.0-1.23 before the bastard child that is A Realm Fking Reborn. A Realm Reborn had stupid raid sharing checkpoints before Destiny was made. Some things should never be copied.
Now I just like to try stuff that I read about to see if I can do it too. Curiosity and all that.
I do firmly believe, and I cannot stress this enough, that there should be no checkpoints whatsoever. Each raid should start from the beginning EVERY SINGLE TIME regardless of where you left off. FFXI Dynamis could take hours. Set aside the time or don't bother in my honest opinion.

Crota takes 30 minutes VoG takes less than 1 hour... There is no need for checkpoints. If they absolutely must stay then disable sharing (just like the story mission checkpoints are disabled for sharing)

Again...VIDEO GAME. Some people don't care about doing the opening of vog due to lack of reward. Others only need weapons from crota. Why waste everyone's time?

Sounds to me like it's wasting YOUR time. If you want the weapons from Crota bloody well work your way up to it instead of stealing a checkpoint from someone else who has done all the work for you.
