What would have been better, is if we got to choose a free weapon from any of the vendors. That way you're not stuck with a weapon you don't want.

That wouldn't really be a gift then, would it?

SO then gift cards arent gifts either? Lol Its just like giving someone a gift card and letting them buy what they want. Honestly i would have rather chosen then gotten something im just gonna break down anyways.

Sort of like a gift card.
-
Touché. But still, everyone should be thankful for what they got, Bungie didn't have to give anyone anything
-
Im not being ungrateful but i feel it was a waste of Bungies time if many of us are just dismantling the weapons we got right after we got them cause either A) we wont use it or B) We already have too many of that weapon already. It really would have been better to just let people choose one. Giving them a Vangaurd Token that would have allowed them to buy one weapon of choice from any vendor would have been a better gift and not a waste of bungie time.

I can see the "gift card" idea and wouldn't have a problem with that. That being said, they are giving you something you can use, whether it's a weapon or armor that can be useful to you or weapon parts, energies, shards, glimmer, etc that can be used toward something else, like an upgrade to something you're working toward maxing out, because you dismantled it. Either way, it's a gift and I believe gifts have a deeper meaning, in general, than what most people see in them.

Everybody knows cash and gift cards are the best presents.
