Your argument is a farce because it doesn't have rewards for people to deserve. I've beaten the Deathsinger legit more than not. It just saves time, since there's a large margin of error with a group of people. It's just easier and less of a hassle to grab a Crota cp. And note, I've done it legit on my three characters, yesterday. Also...football and a checkpoint aren't analogous at all.
