I think the issue is that it can be argued that it is the toughest fight off the Raid with no reward, so why waste the time if someone has the checkpoint. Now I think the fight is fun and would prefer to do it rather than skip it, but Bungie hasn't really given an incentive to do it. Just my 2 cents.

This part of the raid takes like 1 minute. I fail to see how "hard" it is. If people had been doing this without the cp work around, they'd see just how easy it is.

I'm not saying it is hard, just that I think the rest is easier than this part.
