Everything about this game [i]has[/i] been intentionally crafted, and Bungie is not stupid... despite how stupid all of this looks. As far as I'd guess, they did this so everyone hops on the new Raid bandwagon (which as people know, is paid dlc). Eventually once that settles down and sales dip, they'll probably fix the Vault since it'd make a reason to jump back into old content while waiting for new content to surface. They'll fix it, eventually.
