Deleted character for 4th go at Crota and get just shards and energy for 4th time

I am actually at breaking point with this now. I understand the random rewards but when you are forced to make another character for another go at getting ANYTHING other than just shards, to then get hit with shards energy and shards all over again, you start to get more annoyed than words can describe. I've been playing from day one and this happened with VoG too, I didn't get the armor to take to 30 until expansion came out and it seems to be doing the same to my titans this time too. Whats even worse is the entire time I was getting my new character all the way back up to level 20, I was thinking to myself "surely I can't get only shards and energy on every reward point a 4th time", BUT HOW F*******G WRONG WAS I?!?!?!? I have backed this game up to the hilt to justify the way this works and to try and get other people interested in it and now I feel like bungie really do not give a rats ass about everyone feedback, now I think I'm gonna just gonna tell people its like getting a parachute with no pull cord, yeah the trip may be fun but your gonna feel excruciating agony at the end every time. I mean 20 seperate reward stages AND JUST SHARDS & ENERGY every time. Has anyone else had to delete a character then start all over again with him, just to get one more go at decent rewards only to get crapped upon once again? P.S Yes I know all these energy and shards will be handy eventually, but that's what everyone said about the 300 radiant shards n energy I got from VoG and i couldn't use them til the expansion came out which made gettig them redundant as I then gt armor to take me to 31 anyway.
