Getting the big V next Monday...

We have two great kids and because of a current health issue my wife can't take birth control. We've decided the risk is to great to have another child but still need to have some "fun". So here I am reaching out, wondering if any fellow DoD's have done the procedure and could offer up any advice. I could really use it. Thanking you in advance. Planker

  • First off depending on your age they will consult with you about the procedure, but I'm going to give you the simple stat that may make a difference in your decision. Ultimately the procedure gives you the same chance of pregnancy as wearing (properly) a condom 99.998%. SO if you don't mind them and have doubts about the procedure it is something to consider. Especially if you MIGHT want any further kids down the road. That's basically what your consult will cover besides the break down of the procedure itself, that I'll leave to the doctor. If you go through with the procedure helpful tips: - Bag of frozen peas, get two so you can rotate them in the fridge. - DO NOT sit suddenly for the first two days, the most common way to pop/burst stitches. - Do not let the Wife tempt you for again the first two days, just don't. - Don't visit a Hooters/TiltenKilt/etc right away Basically come home, ice up, and think of Margret Thatcher on a cold day for 48 hours. Typically most guys have it done on a Friday and are back to work without notice on Monday and the whole thing takes like less than 30 mins, you can even drive yourself too and from.
