I strongly believe that the random number generator is broken.
Xur is just a constant disappointment to players every week. Especially us Warlocks. He only ever sells the same 3 things, and they aren't even things we want! At least for Titans and Hunters they get some variety. As for the weapons he sells? They suck. I haven't bought a gun from in weeks. Plan C for 3 weeks in a row? Truth 3 times already? No Land Beyond even once? ARE YOU SERIOUS!!?? I've lost count of how long I've been trying to get/waiting for Xur to resell SUROS Regime and at this point I give up.
Why is Xur so terrible you might ask? The random number generator.
The random number generator does not favor everyone equally (ex. I did the nightfall with a friend. I received 9 ascendant energy and he received his FOURTH gjallarhorn.) How do you expect me to keep playing when you constantly -blam!- me over at the end of every mission and week? Do you honestly expect me to pay for DLC that I know I won't get any of the guns from? And don't even get me started on Crucible rewards! Do you really want to hear about the 4 times that I played crucible and got destroyed by some dumbass camper, then discovered that he received the SUROS Regime I've been desperately trying to get for weeks now?
All of this can be fixed by removing that stupid random number generator. Or at least resetting it with a different seed. Games like World of Warcraft are successful because when someone completes a mission, they know that they'll get what they wanted or something that will get them what they wanted. They know that they're not going to -blam!-ed up the ass by some stupid random number generator while their buddies run around at the WoW equivalent of level 32 with the WoW equivalents of Gjallarhorns and Obsidian Minds. So why won't Bungie bother to do it?
The worst part is, none of this will get fixed. Bungie doesn't give a shit. This post is going to get crumpled up and thrown in the trash like the rest of the good ideas I've seen from other players. Maybe I should just return this game and get a refund for the season pass. I'm pretty sure even Microsoft would agree with me if I claimed that I never received what I purchased. What I purchased was a game with a good story and epic loot. Instead, we all got a shitty, half-assed story and a loot system that -blam!-s everyone, save for the few level 32's out there.
Well that's enough ranting from me. If you don't agree with me then don't respond, because I have no intention of reading it. If you do agree with me, feel free to respond with your own rage stories or solutions. That said, I have no intention of reading these responses. Bungie can say, "oh hey great idea," on here and it won't matter to me. Show me you think it's a good idea by proving it to me. Actually bother to fix the -blam!-ing game.
And send me that goddamn SUROS already. FFS. Nine weeks, man.

2 RepliesAgree. The RNG is rigged somehow. I believe another post about "upon creating our character and it rolls a RNG that will stay with us for the rest of the game". It will program our Destiny and all out future random loot rolls. It makes sense. I have gotten 4 Mythoclast and my clan mate that have done the exact same number of raids have gotten zero. 4 icebreakers, 2 Suros, 2 Ghorn and no hardlights. They have gotten opposite. One has gotten 4 hardlights. It's rigged. [b]the house always wins. [/b]

Plan C was twice in a row, truth only twice. RNG has caused my vault to become full of SUROS Regime's and Patience and Time's... Just earned a new Patience and Time today actually. I know have no more vault space due to exotics. Yay.

Xur isn't RNG, there was someone on this messageboard who may or may not have been banned (not sure) that predicted what Xur was going to sell like 4 weeks in a row or something like that...he was messaging an employee at Bungie and had posted screenshots of the convos. Unfortunately I don't have screenshots. But, it would leave me to believe that they actually pick what Xur sells every week...which would explain why a lot of it is locked behind DLC (aka warlock exotic armor for the past 4 weeks!!!)--same goes for what's picked for dailys/weeklys/nightfall. I'm not saying this is definitely true, I'd actually like someone to prove it wrong...

Totally agree. I have a friend who has run Croat's End 14 times now (all warlock) and never gotten a chest or helmet drop to complete his lvl 32 set. I got the Titan set in 1.5 runs... How does that make any sense at all? RNG is a joke, and maybe it could be done right somehow, but it certainly isn't done right as of now in this game.

2 RepliesI feel like the RNG in this game is like my old iPod... I'd put iPod on shuffle and it would always, always play the same songs even though it was on shuffle out of a library of 3000 or more tunes. This seems to be the case for me with exotics and legendaries that drop RNG as it were. Naturally this excludes exotic obtained by bounty. Bungie please rework your coding, loving the game but its getting harder every week to pick up that controller.

Rng is not broken it works just fine. Just tough it out I had to wait and wait to get MYTHOCLAST and finally got it today. (Jk I just found someone with the checkpoint and did it got the Vex and I've done the hard raid once fully. :-) ) but really it's a pain but eventually you get used to it and see it as black and gray.

all the RNG is weighted. Heavily. Anyone who disagrees is a fool. No way some people get 4 ghorns or the same piece of armor in the raid 3 times, while others just get ascendant shards and coins. Also why are greens still dropping in DLC, I've gotten twice as many greens dropping from missions than I got before the DLC. The game is rigged. There really should be a way to WORK towards getting a specific exotic. Doesn't have to be handed out, doesn't have to be easy, but something I can set about doing and KNOWING I'll get the thing I want in the end. Also marks and commendations should be able to be exchanged for the other set, like radiant shards and energy. But at the same time, anyone who believes bungie will implement any of this is an idiot. They want people to keep grinding because that's the only way to keep them playing.

3 RepliesEventually everyone will have every exotic anyways, hes not going to have what you want every week. There were tons of people happy the first time he had TLW, gjallarhorn, and icbreaker. And i'm sure theres those that are happy when those come back as they missed them/dismantled. All the hate on something put in the game purely to help the players obtain the best things easily. If he gave you what you want for the passed 3 weeks, you'd be complaining next week because you have everything. [spoiler]so much butthurt over a complete non issue..[/spoiler]
