I agree with you. I would add that most blockbuster games (at the least ones I play, on xbox one) tend to do this with their stories, where we start in a post-apocalyptic environment. For example, in Gears of War we start 14 days after E-day, and in Halo the story starts way after the Covenant start hitting colonies. Not saying those storylines sucked, but I'd like more "Mass Effect" type stories, where we get to play before and at the start of the catostrophic event.
