Yes and maybe the thorn we have is different from Yor?
Maybe our has Light & Darkness while his only had Darkness,

Edited by Baumguy: 1/11/2015 8:50:13 PMDredgen Yor and his Thorn were known to drain the Light from their victims, I'm assuming that's how he "Permanently" killed them. And I'm pretty sure our Thorn was cleansed by the Speaker and it's connection to the Hive was severed when we killed Xyor the Unwed during the Exotic Bounty Quest for it.

This ^. We had to kill the creator (Xyor) to break the connection to the Hive in order to use it safely.
