So I just found out today that in the summer, we will be traveling with our son across the world to China. Can anyone give any advice, anecdotes or just drop some knowledge so I'm not going in blind?
Its a 12 hour flight and I'm afraid he's going to lose his mind on this flight.

I'm a single parent and I took my exceedingly active 5 year old boy to Scotland , from the states, by myself. Make sure you have something for them to play with, a tablet with some games and movies is a great idea. Get a good pair of headphones (not earphones) that will be comfy for the kid. Bring snacks that you could possibly use as rewards for being good, use the aisles for walking up and down in - won't wear them out, but they can stretch their legs. Coloring books is a good idea too. My big thing is, don't take too much crap, you'll find you wont use it, I stick with the tablet and heaphones...you can always pick up a small treat at an airport too - which makes it a new and exciting toy, rather than the same old. If you start bringing toys you are going to lose them - and nobody wants that.
