What is the most painful thing that has happened to you physically?

Soon realised I didn't have a gf and this was a random lady from the street. I wondered why she was screaming. Anyway, long story short...my wrist hurt.

Breaking my clavicle, twice

So I was making char cloth ( what you use to catch sparks to make a fire ) by putting cotton in to a metal altoids can and putting the can in a fire. Went to pick said can up out of the fire with a gloved hand, dropped it and instinctively caught it with my bare hand. The burn itself wasn't the most painful part. I was in the middle of nowhere so the only thing I could do was put burn gel on it and wrap it up. Went to sleep with it wrapped up and woke up with my hand so pruney it looked like I had my hand in water for a week.

I lacerated my liver falling out of a tree and broke my left wrist in two spots, stomach hurt so bad that I didn't even know I broke my wrist till the CAT scan

Spinal tap. Holy mother...that was the most intense, white hot, brutally intense pain...I ever felt. I was mentally gone for about 3-4 seconds and when I recovered, I was covered in sweat. The gauge was too big, too...so afterwards for about a week, I was leaking spinal fluid. Major headaches when I was upright.

Falling 10ft down an elevator shaft and landing on my arm and didn't break it, whole arm was bruised for 2 weeks

I was eating a pizza one time and didn't realize how hot the sauce was, it tore off some of the scalding hot parts and slapped onto my chin and lip. Wouldn't come off either. Burnt my lips for over a week, I was really sensitive there for almost a month.

Somewhere in between breaking my back in a car accident and my exgf dying. Both are not recommended experiences.

1 ReplyNot the most painful thing I've felt but when I was about 9/10 on holiday in Orlando I walked into a teenager, maybe 14, at a theme park and his teeth went into my head. Cut my head open badly which didn't really hurt that much but he lost about 5/6 teeth and a couple of them broke as well. Luckily he still had a lot of his baby teeth as apparently only 1 of the broken ones and one lost tooth was an adult one. Did lose a lot of blood though, apparently my entire face and half my chest was covered with blood. All I remember was not being able to see out of my left eye due to blood as I walked over to my mum to tell her I had bumped into someone then she shoved a towel against my head and took me to a first aid station.

Probably when my wisdom teeth were growing in. My jaw was so swollen and achy I couldn't close my mouth the whole way. Ugh, not to mention the migraines from all the growing going on in my mouth. I've had some pretty gruesome injuries but I've never been in that kind of pain; it was torture.

No pain is worse than tooth pain. I had a temporary filling for 7 or so years and I finally decided to go see about getting the crown for it, but when they removed the filling bacteria got in and turned it into an abscessed tooth. I also got a temporary crown which sat a little too high, so that when I'd bite down it was the first tooth to feel pressure, which agitated the abscess which meant I couldn't eat -blam!- all. I had it done on Friday, and it didn't start really hurting until that evening. Turns out the doctor left for a wedding so I had to wait all weekend, even better, it was Labor Day or some BS so they didn't open Monday either. I had to wait until Tuesday to get a root canal so that the pain would stop. It was the second back tooth on the left, and the nerve is connected to basically all of the other nerves in the left side of your head. Worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. For an entire long weekend. Moral of the story: -blam!- Dentists. [spoiler]Seriously though, brush your teeth kids.[/spoiler]
