Trying to jump from old cheese spot for crota lamps with no luck

I attempted this for 2 hours. Looks like the weight of darkness kicks in before I can get high enough. I was close a few times. But still no luck. Any pointers?

I'm confused. The patch notes aid they took out the ability for the lamp to blast you to the ledge. So it still works or you did the invisible route to the bridge? Thanks PSN GT: oldguy_plus1
