Please "Like" and "Bump" if you agree...
There really is a way for Bungivision to make a lot more money, not to mention Xbox AND Playstation... LET OUR CHARACTERS BE SHARED CROSS PLATFORM!!!
So play Xbox with your Xbox friends, then turn off xbox. Turn on playstation and use the same bungie profile to play playstation with your playstation friends!!
Many stupid people will think I am saying they need to link the consoles... So please read carefully...
Unlike most console games, you're Destiny profile is saved on Bungie servers and NOT on your console!
That many more people will buy 2 copies of the game! AND buy the console they don't currently own! Keep all you PS exclusives on Playstation only and BAM! That many more sales just like that!

You know what they say this isn't possible.. But honestly that's BS it wouldnt be that difficult to do especially for a bunch of people who do this kind of stuff for a career
-
I would love this. I'd definitely buy an XB1 if they'd do this. I play on the PS4 and most of the guys I work with are on the Xbox. The only thing stopping me from buying another system is that I'm not going to put in the time all over again to level 3 toons. It would be awesome to do the weekly, nightfall and raids without scanning the forums.

-
Which half? the left half or the right half?
-
it won't work
-
This would be awesome, I have a PS4 and X1 and have friends on both, it would be nice to have the ability to play on both with the same characters and gear.
-
Bump My friend got a xbox1 but refuses to get destiny again because he dosent want to put in the hundreds of hours in again from scratch I know there are problems with the exclusive weopons but if there is a way that would be awsome
-
Edited by Cosmic Space Elf: 1/17/2015 2:55:29 AMI don't think bungie can do this, or activision or anything, it's a sony/Microsoft thing. You mean have one destiny acct but linked to Xbox live and psn?
-
Yes yes yes I need this. I don't play destiny with My ps4 friends. Not going to grind again on another console
-
Primary reason this won't happen isn't because of the coding involved but the fact that Playstation users have exclusive weapons that Xbox users do not have so they wouldn't be allowed cross platform for that reason alone.

Edited by Redria: 1/17/2015 1:19:10 AMSo what the OP is stating is that they want the ability to cloud their character over platforms, almost the same thing as Rockstar did with GTA online, your character is saved on a cloud server thus recoverable in another portion of the games network, transfer your character across family but not cross platform play, not a bad idea
-
I would buy Destiny a second time if they coult flip flop between consoles...unfortunately it would set an unfair precedent for the rest of the games when we would expect to see that happening with every other game. The consoles have different coding for their interface and patches would be required constantly. Selling a few extra copies of the game to die hards would not be worth the licensing and programming hours needed to increase corporate profit margins. Great idea...just never going to happen.

Bumpity, bump, bump, BUMP! VtxR - PS3
-
Bump please make this a thing my ps4 friends arnt nearly as consistent as my xb360 ones
-
-
The problem lies in the underlying code of the two systems, and they are completely incompatible. It would be easier to get 360/One to work, but it would have had to been done pre-release.
-
The game is a multi-platform, but there'll be lawsuits all over Microsoft/Sony's ass if Bungievision ever does a multi-platform server
-
So to be clear I'm not saying they should let me play on Xbox with my playstation friends. I am saying I want to use my character data I've earned on Xbox (weapons & armor) to transfer to my playstation! Ta dah!
-
This will never happen due to licensing. It would be actually better if they made fire team sizes scalable with content. Meaning flexible strikes, and raids.
-
Edited by Wolfisaurus: 1/16/2015 12:26:05 AMI would have agreed with you three months ago when I had three lvl 29 on PS4 w/ Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker. I decided to play with my Xbot friends and had to go get everything again.
-
Cross platform play does sound nice but there's a lot more that goes into making it actually work than we think. It'd be nice to have but I don't think it's necessity. I'd rather see larger fireteams for patrol and missions, first.

It's not bungie or activisions decision on that. It's Microsoft and Sony's, and with them being rival companies, it won't happen.
