It's just annoying because it makes the strike go a lot slower.

i find the priest goes down a lot faster if there is someone up top constantly hitting him for crits.

Yeah, but they were doing it on the 3 waves of enemies part.. Makes it a lot slower than normal.. And then a guy ended up going into the under the platform cheese spot and then killing himself, later quitting.
