When Windows live and xbox live were there own separate services and platforms (pc v. Xbox), I only had the option to make my gamer tag so many characters. I tried making savedyourlife but it was too many characters. I then tried SVDurLIFE and got it. When Windows and Microsoft, practically the same company, decided to link their online services, I made my gamer tag transfer over.
