Recently when I was killing dregs and vandals in front of each other it occurred to me, do they care that I'm murdering their friends, comrades, families?
Sure, the Vex are robots. The hive are monsters and the Cabal are a military force. But the Fallen are just scavengers, they are people like the rest of us - no?
Genuine question that results from the blatant lack of lore.

I mean, I guess all they can do is love. Since they seem to always fall for us
-
Liek dis if u cri everytiem
-
Well I caught one masturbating in a cave so he must of felt something!
-
Implying military forces aren't people with families lol
-
I never take their pikes...

I don't think I can bring myself to kill another fallen after reading this post :(

As captain of many, yes. We have excellent relationships within our own house. Each house is led by a Kell. I only answer to Archon priests and my Kell. The vandals and dregs fight over loot they get from killing guardians but for the most part they are like brothers. The shanks DGAF. Those little bastards have shot at me several times. Usually it's when their fusion cores are almost spent. We captains are gentleman if you will who enjoy the finer things this system has to offer.

For just 25 glimmer a day, you can sponsor a fallen, this once majestic race has been reduced to scavenging, having to rely on servitor food banks to survive, constantly harassed by these heartless undead space magicians, just 25 glimmer a day could provide food and the tools to defend themselves, please help, call 0800 bug eye buggers ans have your details ready, you can make a difference.

all I know is the other day I was in the cosmodrome patrolling and there were a small band of dregs near the Divide and as I rolled up near them and smoked 2 of the 3 I heard the 3rd one yell loudly YOLO as he bailed off on top of my head with nothing but a knife and a squint in his eye. RIP mr Dreg...

Read the Grimoire about them. There's PLENTY of lore. And personally I believe that we are killing the Fallen simply out of a knee jerk reaction. I think they're in the same position that humanity finds itself in. We shouldn't be fighting them, nor should we fear them. I honestly think that the war between us and them is a distraction from what the real threat is.
-
No they have arms. All of them.
-
NO. They are full of nothing but ether and sadness and must be eradicated
-
I hope not......I've personally eliminated 99,798 of them.

Edited by sergeantawesome: 1/17/2015 2:57:35 PMI thought about that using a fusion rifle agains them. Nothing to send back to their family. That weapon would be banned by the Geneva Convention.

I dunno. It says they have a soul that escapes, but they aren't quite innocent scavengers though. I would guess fallen, psions and cabal have the most feels out of all the races, with psions falling on either side of the two. But fallen are pirates now, there original goal was following the traveler to its death. Back then they had more organization and better control of power. Now they are broken dynasties, shattered power, a fallen empire.

There's a grimoire card that mentions a guardian and a vandal momentarily teaming up when they end up surrounded by hive. I'd say that shows they have some kind of feelings. Besides, they are clearly an advanced race capable of space travel. I don't think any culture could get that far without some form of emotion, even if its different to our own.

Destiny lore game= 4.5/10

Just like we guardians come back to life moments after we die so do the Fallen reappear moments after we kill them. So at most death is a minor inconvenience. it's a vicious cycle and some day I wonder if we won't have an alliance with the fallen against some greater threat. The queen hinted at it during our brief visit to the reef.

You go to war knowing that.
-
Dude, ur getting too reflective about this it's hair a game not life
-
Yes I caught one masturbating in a cave!!

well I for one have killed a LOT of fallen, and it would be nice to see one that has defected. the House of Wolves are under the rule of the Awoken Queen of the Reef, who is rumoured to become an ally in HoW. perhaps in turn, this could mean that those Fallen will appear as vendors, NPCs, maybe even friendly soldiers in combat? just another look at what Destiny could have been...

Nah, they are soulless organic bots who are only half a step up from the zombie space clowns of the Hive.

Not un true. I haven't proven this but I seen a forum post about if you sneak up on a dreg he heard it muttering about the darkness. Us....
