They're the only 2 parts of the game that matter. I go into strikes to f[i]u[/i]ck around. If they're rushed they can each take less than 10 mins, it's a joke. Long story short, you're a joke, and you need to git gud. You have attempted a raid 17 times with no clears. If you can't complete a raid you are instantly a scrub. I've 2 manned VoG three times, and solo'd Crota three times and I have the flawless raider achievement.. That means I am basically a God to you. (: [spoiler]Even with all of my -blam!-ing around in strikes (I also frequently help in nightfalls as well) our strike K/Ds are about the same, and I'm 7 strikes off of having 500 strike clears.
