Thanks for the ADVICE! Goodbye to my Young Girlfriend!!
So, I am back.. As you may have read about my situation already about having to make a decision between Gaming and my Girlfriend... To refresh your memory or if you may not know yet, I had to make a decision to either be with my girlfriend or stop grinding Destiny (Full story here http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/93198637/0/0)
Today I decided to let her leave my house as I couldn't take drama any more, she asks me to cut back time on Destiny which I feel I'll be losing out... I work full time and use all my time to play because just like everybody else I want Icebreakers, MIDA Tools and Fatebringers!
So to me it seemed selfish of her to ask me to stop playing so much to spend time with her.... As I work hard at work everyday and bring home money, rent and putting food on the table she should show a little more respect and gratitude towards me. It seems as if she takes me for granted and wants more and more from me. So I've decided to let her go because no way in hell would I give up my gaming for her.. Ungrateful woman I must say but anyway I do want to thank you people for all the advice on my other thread! It really helped.
Good riddance to her.

Being a husband and a father I can assume that your not spending your time right. Destiny is fun but it won't love you back or help you when your down. Having reliable people in your life is important. I like to game a few hours Tuesday for nightfalls and weeklies then a few hours here and there till Saturday, my group gets on Saturday to raid.

You clearly didn't love her that much if you wanted to game lots rather than spend time with her. You working hard and putting "food on the table" is not a justification that you can play games all day. Girls want attention, and to be loved. You clearly did neither and nobody deserves that, we're all humans after all. As for the girl in question I'm glad you've ended it with her. It allows her to find a boyfriend that will love her and spend time with her. She clearly deserves much better than you. EDIT: Even if this is a troll post the points still stand.

With todays world the way it is, the one sided give and take off modern relationships. Is it true that you have to be in a relationship to be happy. Sure, sex is fine and all, but it's not a route to happiness, I'm middle aged (ugg feels weird to say that still) I have had my time chasing skirts, the ups the downs. I am in a committed relationship but at the same time I have noticed that I am sometimes happier with my hobbies (mostly gaming) than with other activities. If he was unhappy with his gf so be it, hopefully he let her go in a way that was not cruel because she is a person too. But who are we to judge what furfills his needs as a person. If he is happier grinding a game that he can walk away from if it aggravates him, let him. In the end perhaps he is not the type to want to be in a relationship, but did so because that's what everyone expects him to do. But what if that was not his road. Not everyone needs to be getting into relationships maybe having kids someday, believe me enough other people are doing it that his participation in that realm is not a requirement .

No offense, but if you literally dedicated all your free time to gaming, she wasn't asking much of you. Shame on you sir for being selfish. Now if you were actually only playing a couple of hours a day,that may have been an unreasonable request if you were already spending time with her. If you weren't giving her anytime, I'm surprised she stayed as long as she did. This is how affairs are started, when you don't give time to the woman in your life. Just saying...

2 RepliesIf thats all you do is play and never give time, then its understandable that she gets mad. You do still have give time to her as well as your game. If you did give time and she wants more then maybe she's wrong maybe not. I work and still play the hell out of games, but if some one wants to do stuff I'll make time. You can't expect a relation to last if you never pay attention to what matters. If she walks in naked, and you don't drop the controller, you deserve to be single.
