If Destiny was to start charging a subscription fee, and for that fee we got monthly content updates, more story missions, more loot - basically more MMO content - would you pay $10/€10/£10 a month for the game as a service?
Just curious really.

Edited by WileEWolf: 1/19/2015 3:37:40 PMI will never subscribe to a particular game. Never.
-
I'll never pay to play only one game. But I've been thinking lately; with the trend in subscription services like Adobe creative cloud suite and the like, do you think games will ever be subscription based? Don't buy the game but rent it paying per month? Most games this would save me money. But a month beat it and stop subscription. Destiny never ends though :) would rack up the $! I hope this doesn't happen but I bet it does one day soon.
-
Definitely not. Tdb cost almost half the price of the full game in the UK. Based on what bungie seem to feel is a reasonable amount of content, a monthly fee would probably get you 1 new weapon per month. There would have to be huge changes to content delivery that I personally don't think they would be capable of.
-
Absolutely not. I'm already paying a sub fee for XBL. If any game also requires it, I won't play that game. Between initial costs and DLC prices, they're getting enough of my money. Sub fees would kill it for me.
-
doubt Bungie ever offers enough content to justify this
-
No I already pay for online services via Xbox live
-
No. Thats the reason I dont play WOW
-
I say no only because I pay for Xbox live.. I'm not gonna turn around and pay to play when I already pay to play..
even though my Xbox live is due to expire when I'm 80

not really 80 but I have a few years paid up on it
Edited by darlo0161: 1/19/2015 3:23:27 PMNot at th current content per pound basis. Also without matchmaking in a lot of the content it would be wasted, I play 90% solo.
-
It really just depends on how much better the game gets. The way the game is right now? Hell no.
-
-
$10/month is steep. I'd pay $5/month. That's really what Bungie does anyway. Two dlc in 7 months @ $20 each = $40/7 = $5.56/month (a little cheaper if you bought the dlc bundle)
-
Would I still have to pay for PSN? If no, then yes
-
I would, only if the expansions were included in the price.
-
Edited by Tha_Kid: 1/19/2015 3:04:41 PMdepending on the content, but the way the game is setup (low inventory, cap glimmer, major lack of worlds can visit, major lack of in world NPCs for maybe giving out other bounties/missions) the game would need a serious overhaul. but it the content is there sure why not edit: could care less about pvp, but it seems to be their main focus.
-
If they were to start charging.. the content would have to instantly quadruple in size and then start releasing monthly updates. Fix the instability that still exists. The lame bugs still out there.
-
If bungie actually improved servers, quit with bullshit patches made to please crucible babies, and gee whiz I don't know but perhaps built the story so we know that it's not just mindless grind fest perhaps.
-
No I have already paid for 2 DlC's anything after that I may not get. If they started to carve monthly I would drop the game the base content just Isn't there.
-
Honestly it would depend on what they were offering. If a subscription provided more frequent content updates and included free DLC then yeah, but if you still had to purchase dlc separate, especially the minuscule dlc that we currently have, then no. Personally for me to pay I would need to get new story, patrol, and customization options pretty regularly. I mean PvZ Garden Warfare has had 3-4 FREE DLCs since launch with new characters, maps, game modes, and customizations and its a goddamned Pop Cap game.... Put out by EA! So for me to pay a subscription I would need something like a new story mission every month, new PvP modes, and things like weapon and armor customization.
-
Having already paying for online services for sony and xbox id rather not add to it and since I can't play all the time I feel like it's a waste to spend money
-
Not a chance would I pay subscription fees ..
-
Smash your console over your face for even bringing this up.
-
No. They need more time to develop content.
-
You are already paying 7 a month with their new "expansions" every 3 months at 20 dollars, euros, etc per dlc.
-
Edited by slopat: 1/19/2015 12:57:56 PMAnswered maybe. My caveat would not only be more content but fixing all the bugs and glitches that Bungie has seemed content to ignore so far.

Are you playing on a next gen console? If so, you're already paying!
