Possible Explanation.
Very little information has been dropped (so far)
Currently he is one of the Warlocks (Founder?) of the Praxic Order, one of the most reputable orders of warlocks in the Destiny Universe. He is a master of both Hive and Vex information, and most likely has a large role to play in the near future.
