Requires Better Gear
I hit level 20 a couple of days ago and kind of hit a wall with gear; I equipped a couple of pieces I had in my vault and got to 24.
Since then I've been wandering aimlessly a bit. Most of the drops are green with some rare ones that were terrible. I'm thinking I'm not going where the higher level drops are.
What's the path from my current level for upgrades? Who should I grind rep with first? Should I be doing strikes or take a shot at VoG?

Or faction rank but then you will need to run PvP to get the marks to buy the lvl 31 gear. Once you get your 31 gear you can start focusing on getting raid gear. If you don't have an exotic armor pc then just buy what ever Xur sells this weekend just to get some more light level. Once you get to like 28 or 30 you can really start getting picky about your armor and stats. Thats my 2 cents at least.
