So I tested in the raid with a friend, 1027 crit from Fatebringer on a Thrall, and 427 on a Major Knight
He hit 1037 on the Thrall and 437 on the Major Knight
+10 more damage WITH hive disruptor
Fatebringer has greater impact which even with Word of Crota being 331 it's pretty much just an Atheons Epilogue replacement for burns.

1 ReplyYup word of crota is just for nightfalls pretty much now I can dismantle the complete useless aetheons epilogue

12 RepliesHave you maybe considered that your friends word if crota is not maxed at 331? The word starts at 300 atk and the Fatebringer maxes at 300. Do you see a pattern?
-
1 Replyif that is true, there is even less reason to do the hard raid, since fatebringer has the firefly perk and the phantom perk of the crota gun is absolutely useless..
-
well, it's unfair to compare just single shots. the word of crota has a higher rof and higher stability, so the dps WILL be higher. + if you land precision shots a theoretical mag size of 17! fatebringer is still a top hand cannon, though.

1 ReplyI did a similar test with Vision of Confluence and one of the new 331 scout rifles, Badger CCL I think. They both hit with the same damage, but I can't remember if I was actually in the raid. Hitting lower level enemies usually gives the same damage anyway. Anyone else try?

2 RepliesEdited by Rom: 1/22/2015 8:57:27 AMLol Fatebringer will never hit over 1000 damage on a lvl 33 major. It hits lvl 30 Thralls for 1500 damage. Majors take roughly 50% less damage.
