There is an excuse. What if I want certain stats in my armor pieces?

More on that AFTER you get to 32. The upgraded damage and defense you get at 32 far out weight all the other stats.

Exactly. Why would you scrap a piece that gets you to your next light level just because of the roll? Get holdovers until you get what you want.
