Yes, I know the fastest in the world completed it in 27 minutes. Yes, I'm aware many people have completed it.
Ok, I was expecting it to be hard. I called no chalice before it released. I knew it was level 33.
I'm a level 32 with maxed Horn alongside a bunch of other things (but that's key). I am a more than competent player and have several more than competent teammates - however, I won't call them perfect.
But when I began the crota encounter, I looked down, saw no chalice *yesss I was right* looked around at the now-familiar arena and thought 'if those boomers are hallowed, we're screwed,' and saw those yellow bars, I realised, this is now no good.
The problems are:
Hallowed Boomers
Hallowed Wizard
32% Reduction in damage
Increase in damage taken.
No health regen.
No revives.
Gatekeepers.
When you list the problems, they don't seem monumental, but only a team of six Horn-equipped guardians with pitch-perfect skill and excellent coordination or some merely good players bolstered by exceptional players, are able to take this on. Before you rush to tell me how you completed it with No Land Beyond, I know that Gjallarhorn isn't a necessity. It just helps massively. Fair enough, this is a Hard Raid. Fair enough, you want it to last beyond the time Vog did. But the fact remains, people simply have to practice and practice and practice to get it done, and when just one person can't get it right, we're all -blam!-ed. The learning curve is too steep. And let's not forget that you could get nothing from this except for the shader and some Radiant materials. And damn do I want that shader, but let's back away. Combined with the requirement for exceptional work and the RNG, I don't actually even think it's worth it. Either remove wizards, or gatekeepers, or give us a way to get to 33.
Maybe we'll come back in a month and I'll have done it six times and laugh. But now I don't ever want to do it again.

Even hard mode can be extremely easy for some groups who have been playing together for a long time. For everyone else, you need everyone to know their role. I'm finding that too many people simply give up on the group or want to switch tactics which makes everything more difficult for every member of the team. If 1 or 2 people leave, the two that replace them will not know the strategy we as a team have been trying for hours. When that happens, ammo synthesis gets thrown out the window and everyone gets frustrated. Biggest problem is the synthesis and having everyone shooting at all times. I can handle the odd death from a boomer just not extensively.

It should be made easier? Hahahahaha cheesers

Crotas end hard has that clutch feel everytime you finish it. When crota has 10% health he auto enrages and summons an oversoul. The plan is to leave the oversoul and take crota out as a last attempt. I did it last night with randoms from the forums, using the left strategy and we wiped at crota only a few times. The main thing a crota group needs imo is a competent swordbearer coz everyone should stay alive. There shouldnt be any excuse to die. The team managed to down crota when the oversoul exploded and it left me with a few more seconds to smash crota. I regret not recording it :(

It could be a tiny bit easier. Personally, I have no problem staying alive, the hard part is finding a team that can survive. I swear to God, teams on lfg are such noobs! How hard is it to stay alive for -blam!-s sake!?
