Here is some info on that in case it got burried by the forums.
This was discovered by a reddit user during a bug and was later removed off the forum but later reposted on major news sites, so its hardly new info, but Christmas noobs weren't aware they were being lied to by Bungie, so I just wanted to remind them that House of Wolves DLC is already on your Destiny Disk, it just doesn't have any enemies.

For accuracy purpose, These areas do exist and people were able to glitch into them, but their entrances may have been patched already? Also, about the levels in the screenshots. I am assuming the levels are lower, because this was meant to be released with the full game, but now the mission and strike levels will be 10 levels higher, so 32 instead 22 for example. These are not fake by the way.
P.S. The entire Destiny the Game is 40 GB total. Just FYI. The Expansion is 3 missions, 1 raid, 1 or 2 strikes, and 4+ pvp maps. That will be a very small download comparatively. So please if you choose to post criticism, make it constructive.

I get you, but these areas (which I've been in) are empty. IMO we are paying for the missions to go in them. I wouldn't kick off if I bought a t-shirt but had to pay extra to get something printed on it.

17 RepliesAn empty room is not locked content. If you went in there and can play the whole mission complete with dialogue and loot dropping then that would be locked content. Was the main game lacking in content yes but had it come with everything that was in the dark below and the house of wolves the game would still be worth about $90 so we are getting our money's worth.

22 Repliesall I see are a couple empty areas with nothing in them. Not hard to imagine they created these areas with no idea what they would end up putting in them at a future date. Also those shots of the mission titles scream placeholder. The level requirements are insanely low for new missions and all of them have a generic name. What you are showing looks far from finished that is just my opinion. If you could glitch into these areas and there were level 34 enemies that dropped 40 light raid gear and 350 damage weapons I would be pissed but it looks like right now the lights are on and nobody is home.

Players are not being lied to. How do I know? I'm a network engineer and have worked in software development. This is what the entire software (especially game dev) industry does. Let's say you're Bungie. You have a game with planned DLC. Would you rather... A: Push the new content in its entirety from your servers to several million users - new zones, items, AI, etc. - roughly 10GB of new data per user. Or! B: Have the framework for to-be-released DLC placed on disk (or original digital download) so when the updates for the new content are ready you only push 2GB of new content per user, ensuring a streamlined process that causes a minimum of impact and reduced costs. I'll let you think about that for awhile.

Yes, that area is on the disk, but I've been up there and it's definitely not finished. There are clear areas that are further along, but most of the geometry isn't even done. There's just huge empty spaces with nothing and low quality textures. It's basically just one big empty room with a couple things to climb on and ghosts to find.

8 RepliesJust a quick question, why does it say "expansion 2 moon strike" if intended for initial release? Also the dlc's were announced around may 2014 so they had decided long before that, that they were rearranging content. These are placeholders so we don't have to do 30gb download to play the dlc. Makes sense in the long term.
