Don't lie. This is for science. Hard mode Crota is a tough fight that takes practice and determination to win and I'm curious about how many people found a team good enough to carry someone.
Edit: this poll seems to have run its course and the way the numbers kept moving back and forth by a percentage leads me to believe we had somewhere between 50-100 guardians show up to vote. It seems that 89% of the community was not carried and downed Crota with no cheese. Thanks for the participation. :)
Edit 2: we aren't done yet. Keep the votes coming in along with stories of your success or struggles.
Edit 3: love the enthusiasm from people who have gotten a hard fought Crota completion. In my opinion each class has their way of contributing for the team in the left strat (don't know about middle strat since I haven't ran it.)
Titans: keep those blessing of lights coming. Keeps everyone alive and in the thick of it longer.
Warlocks: keep those orbs flowing for the Titans and swordbearer along with health regen.
Hunters: excellent swordbearers. Golden gun can clear up mobs if they happen to be grouped. Less effective at orb creation than warlocks on average though :/

got gally with 100+ heavy ammo synthesis thats all.
-
I'm a 31 and we haven't gone through enough to be able to collect enough shards, I have a few upgrades but I'm on ghorn/icebreaker duty
-
I'm the sword user. I carry myself
-
6 32s in my fireteam. One was kind of carried in a way we told him to have the most useless job.
-
I'm pretty much over carrying people. It's far better to just keep running the same part over and wiping until everyone can fulfill every role if need be whether it's boomers, the relic, the sword, or whatever. I have much more fun when you come across a game breaking glitch like the minotaur on Venus and someone dies, but rather than wipe everyone else is able to adapt and overcome

Took me like 4 different raid groups last night to get it clicking, the 4th group almost beat crota the 2nd try due to getting the rage on the second sword... ended up killing him the 5th time and did it 2 more times that night. Only used 1 Gjallarhorn each person to take his shield down and sniped the sword bearer
-
Helped a team last night on my under leveled Titan. It took several hours, but we emerged victorious. Got the sad kitty helmet and my third glowhoo to boot.
-
Our group fought him for over 3 1/2 hours with some down time due to losing a couple people. I had to work a 12 hour shift the next day but I stayed until 4 in the morning when we finally beat him so more or less was up for over 36 hours but was it worth it hell yeah!
-
Fought him till 3 in the morning till we landed that final blow while Crota was having his little hissy fit. Did it with no titans. Only warlocks and hunters, good communication, a patiently skilled sword bearer, and a bad ass keeping those boomers at bay while running in and out of the center room (me haha)
-
Anyone want to carry me thru my first? Lol
-
My team beat it without a Titan, no bubble to rely on. Earned
-
Wont lie. We probably couldn't have done it without our 2 titans. Hunter ran the sword and warlock stood around with his finger up his ass. Jk
-
I got the final hit on Crota and it felt so good.
-
I got carried. Although I did 100% of the damage to Crota.
-
Beat it with my group day 1 in about 1hr 45mins without looking at others and how they did it
-
How about I carried...
-
I'm normally the sword guy but there was another person who wanted to run it as a hunter. (I'm a titan) and he didn't have gjallahorn as I did so naturally we let him run it. And he did great. But, once the oversoul went down, crota smacked his ass, I charged forward, and at the proper time told my team to down crota, and finished that son of an oryx off!! Nobody in my group was carried, and we were all randoms
-
I fought for my shards that the raid gave me.
-
I was the sword guy so I'd say I fought for it
-
Edited by LasagnaGuy: 1/25/2015 2:47:16 PMI fought up until Crota, only got Oversoul Edict. I'm a 31. We beat all up until the Deathsinger with 4 31's and 2 32's. I actually still have the checkpoint if any 32's care to assist.
-
I did my runs with the same group.. first we did it with 32s, then we did it with a mix of 32's and alts. if your whole group has gallys.. you only need a 32 sword and sniper to guarantee a smooth run.
-
Had the most kills, least deaths, and made the most orbs as a warlock in the run that we took down crota.
-
I'm honestly looking for a team to play with for it. My warlock fares pretty well.
-
Edited by JFXBENGALS: 1/25/2015 8:31:05 PMI was bustin my bubble out for the sword carrier and flashing boomers. Maybe I was the least important team member, my job could of been done by anyone. I would never say carried, I played my part for three hours from start to finish.
-
If you are not a sword bearer.. You got carried... Flaws of this damn raid.
-
If you're not 32 you got carried
