Stop whining. I got 2 in IB . Gun is not OP at all. Why shouldnt a video game sniper have armor piercing rounds? Real ones do. Be aware of your srroundings and look for the telltale red dot in the distance, then counter appropriately. God the nerf hounds crying over this gun or that gun makes me sick, and Bungie listening to them has only made this game worse.

No gun should be a guaranteed OHK on any part of the body with a final round. Game breaking.

Morningstar, what I meant by my post was that no gun should OHK anywhere on the map, you can survive fusions, shotguns, and rocket launchers. So yeah I'm familiar as I can tell you definitely are judging by your DTR. Scrub.

NIce to know you can read. Yes that is my k/d, so what? How does that relate at all to my understanding of balance or how this game works? I understand that very few people out of everyone who played IB even were lucky enough that RNG dropped the gun for them. Even fewer were able to reforge the gun until those 2 perks were awarded. I never claimed to be a god at crucible, just that the gun isn't overpowered. Neither of the 2 Spears I got as drops have both those perk together. So what? I replied to the post because it was typical whining by someone who got shot by the gun and cried nerf, which is basically how all the nerf cries start. I stand by my comments, BTW your crucible k/d while positive isn't so good that you are any sort of expert. Im more inclined to listen to you based on your tenure on this site at 7 years.

You have a grand total of 27 sniper kills in PvP, out of your 6285 total. 0.004% of your kills are with a sniper. That, combined with a 0.59 K/D, tells me that you can't even hit the body with a sniper, let alone the head. Stop acting like you have experience with the gun, because you clearly don't.

Another person who can read. All that should tell you is I prefer AR in crucible. I also like shotguns and fusion rifles. I spend most of my time in PVE and there I like to snipe quite a bit, its how I solo lots of things. Im sure you have your preferences in crucible too. And yes I do have experience with the gun I solod this weeks nightfall using it on my Hunter>

You used a gun in PvE... and that suddenly makes you an expert about how the gun works in PvP? And you even said to someone else that you don't actually have a Spear with AP Rounds + Final Round.

At no time did I actually insult him, I told him to stop whining and crying nerf the gun. I also said that all the crying about this gun or that gun is too OP is ruining this game and it is. If my harsh words offended. Oh well. I stated my opinion. I stand by by it all the whining over this gun killed me so it must be OP is ruining this game.

You must have only limited experience on these forums then, because there are many others whose stats are way worse than mine not to mention a lot more individuals on these forums who are way MORE TOXIC with their posts than anything Ive ever posted. Not only do I use my Spear with exploding rounds in PVE often Iv been holding a lot of different controllers for a lot of different systems longer than you've been alive.

It isn't the armor piercing rounds necessarily. It's that combined with the final round perk which is a one shot kill anywhere on the body. If your argument is to compare to other games with snipers in it that have one shot kills, the closest main stream game I've played like that is COD. While this is similar in some regards, it is very distinct in others. COD also has it's one shot kill snipers when you hit torso and up. This gun can one shot you in the foot. Not necessarily saying it needs to get nerfed, but there is a clear and obvious advantage this gun has over all other guns in the entire game. Fittingly it's only sold thru iron banner and takes a while to roll properly.

Out of everyone who responded to my post you were the most intelligent and reasonable. A fusion rifle can OHK you in the foot too, but I don't think those should be nerfed. I said it earlier in another response, but the number of people whose Spear actually has those perks together is small, so it isn't affecting a large number of opponents and therefore isn't game breaking.

I agree it isn't game breaking, final point I'll make though... Fusion rifles can't one shot you in the foot through a wall ;) honestly I think it's a gun to strive for. A gun clearly designed for multiplayer and earned through the most difficult game mode in multiplayer. I think there needs to be more guns like it. Guns that are over powered in multiplayer and not necessarily the best in pve. Make people work for their style of gun, create a divide between the two sets. If you love multiplayer, earn the best guns in multiplayer and kick ass with them. If you don't, stick to pve and kick ass with your over powered pve weapons. Just my thoughts
