While no such thing exists in the world of Destiny you can use your Vault as such by depositing any House Banners, Silken Codex, Axiomatic Beads, and Network Keys you obtain instead of cashing them in at the Cryptarch. I took to this method shortly after the last Iron Banner event before the DLC release and I've currently saved 51 House Banners, 33 Silken Codex, 19 Axiomatic Beads, and 10 Network Keys which comes to 22,600 Glimmer. Almost doubling the in game Glimmer cap in about 2 months. I hope this helps some of my fellow Guardians quell any future Destiny financial problems. Edit: Title
