It's cool, whenever people do this I just go back to where I was. People kill stuff for glimmer and engrams. Dunno the purpose of speed running strikes unless you're doing the bad juju bounty

  • I speed run for class materials and marks. There are far better places to farm glimmer and bounties.

Why are you speed running for class mats? Class mats can drop off any enemy so you're just missing out on tons by doing so. Marks sure( though I have no clue why people need marks anymore) but class mats are a reason not to. Also while I can farm the exclusion zone is rather farm class mats, bounties, glimmer, and faction rank at the same time making it the most efficient use of time. You seem to be wasting your time.

Wasting time? Lol. I may or may not have bounties when doing strikes or exclusion zone. Or slap on a glimmer buff when doing strikes. But it's far more efficient to just go to"we've woken the hive" mission for kill bounties and exclusion zone for glimmer. Farming strikes for glimmer/bounties is slow as -blam!-. Seems like you're wasting time.....imo. My time is limited and I like to be more effecient Strikes is the fastest way to farm class mats period. The random drops from mobs on the way is NOT the way to go.... You get better drops at the end

  • LOL you definitely have been missing out. I've gotten BY FAR more class mats from random drops than I have ever gotten from the end of the game. While you are guaranteed more at the end, the green and blue drops throughout It takes 10 mins to finish a strike when you kill everything and on average I get at least 3 green/blue drops each strike then add that onto 2-4 engrams at the end. With 3 people killing everything, you get glimmer from consumables, tons of drops from enemies including consumables, 31 faction marks, and you finish bounties all at the same time. By the time you finish your 30 mins at the exclusion zone, I've already done 3 strikes. I will have more engrams, enough glimmer for at least 3 upgrades, multiple bounties completed, and of course a bunch of stuff to break down for class mats. Instead of doing bounties one by one and going to missions and such, 1 strike can usually satisfy a ton of requirements. For example, hive/ fallen majors can easily be satisfied during the omnigul strike, vex majors in the undying mind, etc... 1 hour of strike playlist usually nets me ~30 engrams, 15k+ glimmer, all bounties done, and on top of that 186 faction rank (31*6). There are definitely some bounties that are done way faster in the hive mission but in a case such as yesterday where I had vex, hive, and fallen majors to kill + complete a strike without dying, 100 headshots, kill 100 enemies (mostly older bounties), 1 hour of strike playlist satisfied all of that. Of course I don't run strikes often since I don't need anything from strikes but on the occasion I need class mats, glimmer, and I have bounties to do? Definitely strikes all the way and I will make sure to kill everything. Speed running strikes is just such as waste when you consider you're likely missing out on at least 3 engram drops which can be the difference between having to run 1 more strike for an upgrade. In the end it's faster to just kill everything and get drops that way than just skipping everything and having to run an entire strike all the way through for 1 or 2 more mats.

I get a couple engrams without killing everything. I've tried both ways. Trust me. It's faster speed running. If I wanted to kill a bunch of shit I would go to patrol. It's just absolutely faster doing speed run strikes. By far As far as glimmer and bounty farming. Yeah I'll through on the consumables for glimmer and get bounties before I do strikes. BUT!!! If I want bounties or glimmer themselves.... I'll go do the strategy that better suits that. Like exclusion zone for glimmer. It's way faster. It makes way more sense. I can get through with bounties in 30 minutes doing missions like "we've woken the hive" But doing strikes for glimmer or bounties alone would be a waste of time. The only reason I even do strikes is for class mats because my hunter has barely been played. 1day play time. If it wasn't for that reason. I'd never do a strike again. They're a waste of time unless you want class mats. Or legendary ships. Or getting marks for legendaries when you just started. Doing the nightfall and weekly heroic after you have your gear is enough alone for marks each week...

  • I agree with most of it but recently I've run enough strikes to see the difference with engrams and green drops. I definitely get at least 3 drops each strike on top of the rewards at the end. 5-7 per strike vs 2-4 per strike is a big difference really.

  • I get at least 2-3 drops skipping the trash mobs that can be skipped. Plus the rewards.

  • True. I just never see things that way since I have raid armor and weapons so I don't even think about marks. Maybe speed runners need more friends so they don't need to grind strikes for marks since marks are pretty useless once you get raid armor and weapons. I have friends that run strikes for fun but I don't personally know anyone who run strikes to get gear lol
