Mercury Is the closest to the sun. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. Which comes right after earth. The third planet from the sun.
Educate yourself rather than spouting nonsense and hoping no one is gonna call you out on being a retard.

He said Venus is the closest to EARTH, not the sun. Everyone knows Mercury is closest to the sun. The sad part is he forgot Neptune was a planet.

Edited by ZEM: 1/27/2015 10:59:34 PMApparently the guy I was replying to did not. As he swapped mars and Mercury on the list. And no Venus is not the closest to earth. Mars is. The fact that we currently have rovers on Mars and a flag on the moon should tell you that alone. So either way.. Still wrong.

Edited by ZEM: 1/27/2015 11:30:05 PMI'm an Astrometry major. But sure Mars isn't the closest. Just cuz you say so. Venus has an off set orbit. It's only closer than Mars for a small section of each year. While Venus does come closer in this time. Mars holds its orbit closer to that of the earths. Meaning most of the year Mars is closer. And why Mars is visible in the sky more often. I know you have google fella. Use it to educate yourself.

Edited by Evil ATF: 1/27/2015 11:30:29 PMYou know the planets move, right? At the moment, Mars is the closest. In a few years or less, it'll be Venus. You must be new to that "Astometry" thing. ;-) Edited to add: Apparently, every 2,000 years, Mercury is the closest planet to Earth. You Google something new every day.

Read it again fella.

Sure...now that you edited your reply, it makes a lot more sense. ;-)

Yeah. My bad on that actually, I realized I needed to elaborate the second I hit post.

It happens. I'm honestly not trying to break your balls. I just enjoy the banter.
