Not REALLY related, but thought you should know:
Top 3 storyline s that can GO SOMEWHERE
1. Destiny (as of now anyway!)
2. Halo
3. Mass Effect
By go somewhere, I mean that they could do a lot more with them like kill off someone important or make a new enemy force, and still be a good storyline.

destiny is walking backwards it had a awesome story planed head writer left story scraped so they don't have to pay him now destiny is storyless

I feel like halo has made some headway as of late. Halo 4 had one of the best stories of the series.

Halo 4's story was a big excuse to get rid of Cortana. The Didact was just a side story

It obeys all of the lore though. Cortana was gonna die at some point and anyone who read The Fall of Reach new that. 343 managed to use that as a great central plot and give some character development for both Cortana and a normally featureless Cheif.

I actually think halo 2 had the best simply because of the dual campaigns with the Arbiter.

Although I have huge nostalgia for halo 3 (mainly because it was my first halo game.) it was a bit basic and linear.
