There is another problem with terraforming Mars and other planets that a lot of people don't realize. Life on Earth has evolved to a ~24-hour day-night cycle. As far as I know, most planets don't share that distinction. Certainly not Mars. It would be very difficult for organisms to adapt to a whole new world with a different amount of time per given day.
