What do you need to generate ice? Water. Mars does have water, yes. Enough water to cover the entire planet in ice? Uhm, nope.
A lot of the water that used to be on Mars dissipated into the vacuum of space when its atmosphere degenerated. Now, we are left with only small remnants of water (comparatively) in the forms of clusters of ice at the poles of the red planet. All that remains on the main surface is a very cold red-sand desert where the markings of water still remain.
It's fascinating stuff.

As long as I have is for my drinks idgaf

If you're going to correct someone, at least be right. You do not need water to make ice.
-
I think he assumed OP was talking about water ice in general.

Edited by FxtrtTngoWhisky: 1/28/2015 12:24:53 PMWhen I think about planets being covered in ice, I don't think about water... But you're right
-
What do we use then helium and carbon?
-
Edited by FxtrtTngoWhisky: 1/28/2015 12:25:44 PMYou're such a fail, I'm not even going to answer your question.

Dry ice isn't made from water....you do that necessarily need water for ice
-
Dont necessarily* damn auto correct
-
Dry ice is nitrogen oxygen or helium not water
-
Carbon dioxide actually. Solidifying nitrogen or oxygen takes extreme pressures and extreme chills. Close to absolute zero on the kelvin scale

i had an idea. If we threw all our garbage on Mars and set up a couple factory's and plant a shit load of hydropnic trees we coukd terraform thst bitch without the traveler in like 15 years .

Oh, and Mars is further from the Sun than Earth, but is definitely not "the furthest planet from the sun". That would be Neptune.

It was confirmed last year or the year before by scientist that Pluto is a planet again.
-
Don't care what anyone says, Pluto is still a planet to me lol you can't just change your mind and say nope not a planet anymore lol
-
Don't worry, in a few months New Horizons will fly by Pluto and take clear pictures for the first time :) YAY SCIENCE
-
R.I.P. Pluto... :(

pluto is dead? mickey must be crying :D

Indeed :(
