Why would the furthest planet from the Sun not be covered in ice and look like a desert? Space Magic? These things confuse me

Just a heads up, water is not needed to make every type of ice. Ice as we know it is frozen water. Other chemicals, liquids and mediums can freeze also...Frozen carbon dioxide is [b]DRY ICE[/b] for example. If a planet has Ice, it could be a case that although there is no water, there could be carbon dioxide or another "air" that could solidify and form ice. Just my 2p....carry on
