Toland was obsessed with the hive and all their practices, I am obsessed with the fallen, who are you obsessed with? Who do you want to know inside and out?
Post why below.
Here's some of my theories on them:
Fallen
they have an amazing hierarchy of royalty. If you didn't know the dregs are actually just vandals with their arms cut off. The captain's are just vandals with better gear. I assume barons are just captains that hold land. The Kell may be equivalent to a king, but I'm unsure.
So what made them scavengers? What made them fall? Was it us? The traveler? The darkness?
Hive
they exist outside death! They are not born into life, nor do the pass on from it. They are simply created and destroyed.
And horrifyingly, created again.
Vex
computing organic robots. Who created them? The precursors? The darkness? The traveler? Are they trying convert all organic life into their hybrid like?
Will we be able to defeat them?
Cabal
these brutal soldiers are easily holding their own against one of our greatest enemy, the vex. Who do they fight for? I've read grimoire that stated some merely fear their command while others follow.
Traveler
is it evil? Is it just misunderstood?
Will it be our salvation our destruction?
Come check out the collective of knowledge and discuss the lore of all these and more!

I'm a bit late to the party but nonetheless.. (Requested to join by the way, I would love to contribute. Also I play a ton.) Regardless I am obsessed with the traveler, yes I've read the post! Although I do not particularly lean towards one theory I want to know what this thing is doing. Did it save us? Did it trigger the collapse to save us? Is it the darkness and we are doing its bidding? (Fallen have been heard saying "darkness" when seeing guardians) is it really just all true that it came and saved us etc etc (there's so much more guardian.) There's a ton of holes in this game that I may have confused myself. But I would love to see a plot twist where the traveler is the darkness. Destiny - play in the lie. Destiny 2 - discover the lie. Destiny 3 - defeat the lie. A lot of hints and cards suggests this is true (although I could be wrong.) The fact that the black garden is in the traveler (confirmed?) the stranger says it does not matter what side you chose, just chose. Implying you don't even know what side you're on (playing in the lie) also this makes sense that destiny has a lack of a story. If you are playing in the lie, background lore and a few tid bits of information makes sense to keep the story hidden until further games. All is speculation and I'm sure I can be proven wrong. But I'd like to see something crazy like this happen, also I'm one for imagining crazy shit. Well there's my thoughts. I've got plenty on all the races and game items etc. Cheers!
