Why is Mars not WHITE

Why would the furthest planet from the Sun not be covered in ice and look like a desert? Space Magic? These things confuse me

  • It requires surface water to freeze as ice, or some similarly coloured substance in large quantities. Mars has white 'ice' caps, actually frozen carbon dioxide. The moon Titan has frozen methane covering its surface. Maybe, once this beta release of Destiny is over (let's be honest, that's what it is) we'll get the full solar system, and you can spend your days on Europa.
