this would fit into the game PERFECTLY
it has a boss fight which is just the shell of another boss, but this time its nearly invincible ( nexus boss to Templar, goliath tank to better goliath tank )
it has a long segment were you have to wait forever for anything else to happen ( dinkle bot opening doors, the reactor room )
it has a place where you have to progress through huge hoards of enemies that constantly kill you ( crotas end abyss, exiled vex rooms )
and it has a boss fight were the boss is invincible until you do some really weird stuff to get it's shield down.
IT WOULD BE PERFECT IN THIS GAME.

I didn't want to be something completely out of the box cause then it'd be harder to communicate and for the reader to relate to. I tried looking at the Vault of Glass (the better of the two current raids in my opinion) as a template. That being said, I'd love to see something completely random and out of the box crazy cool raid.

that's a good idea, I may try to create a mercury based raid. it really is a good raid idea though, just raids are the only part in destiny that has different gameplay other than shoot bad guys to progress, or shoot waves of enemies while dinklebot opens a door slower than a modern day hacker could. it's good you used a template to relate, but each raid should be original, or at least include some unique gameplay to it.
