Guys,
Mercury can't be in the game because it's the hottest planet in the solar system. It basically touches the Sun's CMEs and we would all be dead immediately due to radiation and heat. Why do people want to go to a molten rock and fight the vex? These things blow my mind.
Why do people keep saying VENUS is hotter than Mercury? You guys need to learn the order of the planets.

Why do people keep saying Venus is hotter than mercury haha really? You've made a post about not going to a planet, then giving reasons for why we don't go to that planet, when we already go to that planet! You should delete this post lol. Or put a satire tag an pretend your joking.

But Mercury is in the game...

Edited by IhzaMhaskova: 2/4/2015 12:29:12 AMVenus is hotter than Mercury and we go there. Mercury gets to around 426 Celsius in the day and -173 Celsius at night. Venus gets to around 462 Celsius in the day (hot enough to melt lead) and is that same temperature across the whole planet. North pole? 462 Celsius. South pole? 462 Celsius. Equator? 462 Celsius. Venus is an airless world with a CO2 atmosphere that keeps all heat trapped inside. Venus has 92x the atmospheric pressure of Earth. (Same pressure as 1 Kilometer beneath the ocean.) Radiation from the Sun is absorbed by the Venus and the infrared heat emitted is trapped by the carbon dioxide, which creates a runaway greenhouse effect. Mercury makes 5189651684568456845% more sense than Venus. (NOTE: Science. Learn it before making ridiculous arguments/assumption.)

Edited by Diecutman: 2/4/2015 4:54:24 AMI'll grant you, everything you said is correct. However, Venus isn't habitable, nor is mars. Or the moon, for that matter. The same science fiction that can make venus habitable could very well make mercury habitable. The reason people want this is simple; the other planets have so little to offer that they think a new planet will fix things.
-
Seen people say it but you can go there lol
-
It's in the game dufus, do you even crucible?
-
I don't understand why you are trying to use logic in a videogame. All the other planets are uninhabitable for humans for various reasons; but Destiny explains that the Traveler miraculously terraformed the planets and their atmospheres. It's supposed to be the magic of the games story. I don't understand why we would be able to go to any of the other planets if we can't go to Mercury. What makes Venus, Mars, the moon, or even the Reef okay? If you want facts, Venus is the hotter than Mercury due to the greenhouse effect because there is far more CO2 in the atmosphere which traps in the heat that the planet is receiving. Even if you didn't want to trust the fact of how hot it is, the atmosphere is about 90x more dense than Earth's. And another question to ask is how our bodies move the exact same way in the game as if all the planets had the same exact gravity? Since when did our moon have an atmosphere? Either way, it wouldn't help if we tried to make sense out of how we can play on these planets or moons, so there's no point in using logic. But it sure is fun to run around and explore Venus, so I won't argue if they let us explore Mercury.
-
Order of the planets isnt everything. Venus is hotter because it has an extremely dense atmosphere. It has a greenhouse effect on steroids. On venus it rains and snows metal. Mercury has almos no atmosphere so alot if the heat from the sun is radiated back out to space, the dark side of mercury is actually far below zero.

Mercury has a map in crucible
-
Why are people trying to make facts out of -blam!-ing video games. How did ghost bring us back to life? How can a hunter jump 3 times? I don't see any thrusters. How can a warlock shoot nukes out of his hands? Wtf is void damage? Could a Titan in real life make a shockwave from punching the ground? It's a game.... GAME. A fantasy world made for us to enjoy.
-
Your name and profile picture is too easy to remember. Obvious troll 1/10 Must do better
-
The traveler makes it so all planets in our solar system habitable. It's true
-
But... what about Burning Shrines?
-
Umm... It's Destiny not real life. There's trees on Venus.VENUS!!! Plus Mecury is now a machine
-
Reason 1: The destiny crew had to change a lot of story last minute when a writer dropped out. This could have caused there to be no story tie to mercury and thus no reason to go there. Reason 2: Mercury wasn't fully developed and ready to used in Destiny. It could be being worked on now to be released as DLC Reason 3: The game has features and areas locked away for future use. Not only can Bungie sell them as DLC but it allows them time to fix the problems they have with the current features already available. If the had released everything at launch the game would have flopped due to all the bugs. Reason 4: perhaps it is/was already to go but Activision, being the greedy *ssholes that they are, decided to scheme us for more money by intentionally cutting it out of the base game to market as add-on content. Will we get Mercury? Probably. Will we have to pay for it? Probably. *sigh*

Edited by o0DELTA FORCE0o: 2/4/2015 2:30:41 AMI'm sorry, I forgot tripple jumping hunters, magic slinging warlocks and exo human titans were 100% accurate in the eyes of science. Its a game it does not need to be factual, shut up. Also crota does not have a temple on the moon.
-
Lol I hope you're trolling. Venus is indeed hotter than mercury due to venus' green house effect trapping the Suns heat. You could have done a quick Google search to see that out of all the planets Venus has the highest average surface temperature. Btw there is a pvp map that takes place on mercury bud.
-
2 words.....space magic.
-
Let's go to Pluto and party
-
You seem to have forgotten about
SPACE MAGIC!
-
Your stupid. Venus is hotter and we can access Venus. Mercury isn't that hot at night.
-
You know what blows my mind. That you bring fact into a game that is about you coming back to life with the help of flying Peter Dinkalages that were sent from a giant sphere hovering over earth.
-
I think on one of the grimmmoiere cards it said it was and icy planet. I could be confusing it with saturn tho :p
-
Edited by Vox Mortuis: 2/4/2015 2:41:13 AMBut..mercury is in the game. You need to play some skirmish or rumble.
-
Venus IS hotter than Mercury. Venus has a hella thick atmosphere that causes an extreme green house effect. Plus, the traveler makes planets suitable for life anyway, so no argument here
-
Simple: if the Traveler can make life on Venus and Mars habitable even after the overwhelming temperatures, why can't it make Mercury one?
