Why MERCURY isn't in the Game
Guys,
Mercury can't be in the game because it's the hottest planet in the solar system. It basically touches the Sun's CMEs and we would all be dead immediately due to radiation and heat. Why do people want to go to a molten rock and fight the vex? These things blow my mind.
Why do people keep saying VENUS is hotter than Mercury? You guys need to learn the order of the planets.

Because Venus is hotter than Mercury in real life, because venus has a run away greenhouse effect. Mercury has temperatures ranging from minus 170c to plus 420c, Venus however has a temperature ranging from plus 440c to plus 500c. Just because Mercury is closer to the sun does not necessarily mean it is the hottest planet, there are other factors, too. Of course if you get REALLY close then that would be a different topic. But then again, they terraformed Venus in the golden age so that you dont get vaporized when you go there so what makes you think that they could not do something to mercury to be able to set foot on it. Also maybe the suits they wear can withstand these temperatures. Mercury is a ball of iron, not molten rock, and its still there, so there you go.

Well it used to be a lush garden world before the vex got a hold of it. So I would imagine that there would be some level of atmosphere/ozone would it be extremely hot? Yes. Do we already do shít on Mercury? Yes.

1 ReplyFûck the order of the planets. We're playing as a bunch of ass-kicking sons a bitches using magical powers to throw fire balls, turn invisible, summon up a shield, and more. Hell, if you beat the game, you technically killed a Vex god. Don't gimme some random ass "order of the planets" BS when we're practically motherfûckin superheroes.

Btw Mercury is in the game, it's a Crucible map, but hey if you say we "can't" inhabit it, that's not my business... *sips tea*

It is, its a crucible map that is bright af, the sun is RIGHT behind it, and its considered a Vex world, basically crawling with God knows what, that's why

The surface of Venus is actually much hotter than Mercury in real life, due to Venus's thick atmosphere and the runaway greenhouse effect it causes. Both were made habitable for humans by The Traveler. The Vex took Mercury by force and turned it into a machine planet. They attempted to do the same to Venus, but were thwarted. You can play on the mechanized version of Mercury on certain Crucible playlists.

Mercury is a crucible map. Thus, the world is a machine world consumed by the vex. There is a invisible vex shield guarding entry from heat. It's nothing but dust and machine now.

1 ReplyMercury, Venus, and Mars were all terraformed during the golden age which means they all have atmospheres and surface conditions suitable for human life. Mercury was a garden world according to the speaker. Mercury probably isn't an explorable world due to the fact that the vex turning it into a giant machine. But I'm sure future content will have us back on Mercury.

Mercury is in the game :) theres a crucible map on it. And since we don't immediately die when we go there, it's safe to say that the traveler terraformed it too
