The Word of Crota as a weapon itself is pretty amazing. It's a great hand cannon, but there's on extremely annoying issue that comes up.
It has the same issues that Black Hammer had! The Phantom Gift is useless against Hive Majors because of the extra non-precision damage it does, so the perk doesn't actually work against anything that is a Hallowed Hive enemy, for example a Hallowed Knight.
The explosive rounds perk does the same, so the Phantom Gift doesn't take effect, so we're basically restricted to only two perks of the three perk tree on the weapon.
Could Bungie please take this issue into account as you have done to Black Hammer and either replace Phantom Gift entirely or at least tell us you're working on it like you did the Black Hammer?
Note: If you have The Word of Crota as well and dislike the fact that the perks contradict each other, bump and like this so Bungie could see it!
Thanks!

Hello All, Personally speaking, I do not have the Word of Crota... Yet. That being said, I will use the weapon myself and figure out where it fits into my particular play style within Destiny's various game modes and decide for myself... this week, I hope. : ) I have watched and read a lot of reviews on The Word of,Crota. It's a shame really as I prefer handcannons over any other primary in Destiny and have been looking forward to welcoming this one to the fold. I wish the weapon performed as designed at launch but understand that it's main perk Phantom gift is not working due to a bug with the Explosives Rounds and / or Hive Disruptor perks same as the Black Hammer. Hence. why the Hive Disruptor perk was removed from the weapon Black Hammer. I verified, it's gone. (side note) IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, I agree with ALL of the aforementioned reviews which state that "THE PHANTOM GIFT" perk is extremely underwhelming. Please keep in mind, it is my opinion regarding the perk based on information from reviews. Whatever route they choose, I hope Bungie resolves these issues with The Word of Crota and The Black Hammer soon. Thank you. p.s. @QuackMooDuck, thanks for starting this petition.
