Im am wondering if fatebringer will still be the best pve hand canon after house of wolves gets released. Opinions?

Edited by HarryHavana: 3/8/2015 9:33:58 PMIf it still takes out trash with one crit, I'll still use it. I'd image against the best available handcannon at that time we'll be looking at a difference of about 400 damage per crit, which is proably really gonna start to tell against ultras and mobs with higher HP. Still, arc damage against captains is not to be sneezed at.

Won't do enough dmg.

Lets get this post active again :D
-
Will become underpowered
-
Probably not for endgame content at that point. Still will be great for strikes / random crap
-
It still holds its own on crota . I don't see why not . I will attempt it anyway
-
If it got a 331 buff then yes, very sad to say if it stays at 300 if won't be to reliable but I will still attempt it :)

Good on trash bad on bosses. You're only using FB in a few places not named "your daily bounties", and those include: Confluxes; Abyss trash; Bridge trash.

Edited by Coyote_x_Starrk: 2/17/2015 1:00:00 PMIts not the best one right now.... Hawkmoon says hello. Thorn says hello.

Seeing as how fate bringers perks aren't unique, it's highly likely the how hand cannon will be superior. I for one want a hand cannon that forcefully pushes a target away, like the warlock melee
-
Probably not, since everything will be level 32.
-
they have already showed that the next nightfalls will be lvl 32, so while it will still be relevant, other guns will be much more effective...

Probably not, since I assume end game content will be from level 32-36.
-
No...? You guys seriously need to hop off the fatebringer bandwagon, it will be a detriment to your team to use a 300 damage weapon in the house of wolves raid, I don't care how great its perks are. Blue weapons will have higher damage stats then fatebringer.

It's not the king now; it's just a lot of people's favorite still. And understandably so.

-
What should i use fang or fatebringer? I cant decide i do to much switching between them.
-
It's gonna be about 60-70 dmg lower than everything else
-
Always
-
Probably not

I mean you can have fun with it in pve but I wouldn't want to see you carry it into the next raid. You'll be able to take down capitan shields but otherwise it'll be like bringing an Epilogue to Crota.
-
The trouble is that it won't be getting an upgrade...what's the use of a 300 in a 330+ maybe even 360+ type situation. At the minute there's only one time the damage holds it back and that's during crota. But if the nightfall is upgraded or VoG comes out with a level 32/33...it will become less useful. Arc and firefly only really save it atm (I'd rather have crowd control or feeding frenzy tbh), and word comes in void which isn't helpful for crota. But if they fix the precision perk on word I can see it being good.

Edited by kgnast: 2/5/2015 4:57:22 PMNo, it won't. HoW daily, weekly and nightfall will be level 32. FB will be ok against trash adds, but that's it. The Fang of Ir Yut for Arc burn at 32 stuff, all day. 331 primary arc scout. It'll get a lot of work in. And I love my FB. It's been great. One of the most useful guns and has bailed my ass out for months on end. But it's lifespan is soon to come to an end.
