Class Items Should DO Something
This is an old, forgotten topic that I haven't seen mentioned recently.
I would love to see some function (other than farming rep) to high level class items, even if it is one simple node that gives a single perk.
The Vault of Glass class items could cause bonus damage to Praetorians, or Atheon, or Oracles, or increase relic holder's agility, there are countless untapped possibilities for them.

1 ReplyThey should be something minor, to not push people towards certain aesthetics. Like extra glimmer from an enemy type, or extra non-legendary mats from dismantling.

2 RepliesHonestly would like to see something with these, including the ships and sparrows. Pointless buying ships and sparrows unless in some future DLC expansion they add some mini games or something including the sparrows and ships. A star fighter crucible with ships maybe shield, missile pulse cannon engine upgrades? Sparrows equipped with weapons like the fallen where you can jet through blasting anything in your way like theirs race courses for sparrows? So much this game can offer with time. Class items do need something even something minuet like longer super duration. Looking forward to the house of wolves coming wrapping my head around the game I am taking a shot at prediction. The void queen will get a second appearance there will be an intro to the hive queen, new expansion into the solar system with some of the other planets. Introduction to new enemies with each planet New weapons to fight the hive, Black Flag/Raid rifles, fly paper grenades.

2 RepliesI always has an idea for a cloak that was exotic, it would be a little different it would replace exotic armor but it would have a nice buff. Basically after standing stand and not taking damage for a short time you would become invisible, like the active camo from halo. But if you moved you would no longer be cloaked, good for hiding in crucible or enemies in PvE

I'm still running the first one you have when the ghost revives you, because there is no toiletpaper hanging out (titan) and it doesn't even matter if it's legendary or common. It's a shame. They should at least give a point for agility, armor or regen.

I don't wear anything other than my faction item, no matter what pretty stuff the Speaker sells...I have no reason to level Vanguard or Crucible.

I like getting to use whatever class item I want with no consequence. It's bad enough that all that sexy rare level gear is obsolete now. If they added perks to class items, it would severely limit the diversity of them, and everyone would wear the same ones. Maybe not a big deal for Warlocks or Titans, but a Hunter's cloak is what we stare at for about 1/3 of our play time. (In tower, on sparrow) If they do decide to do this, I suggest adding a lot more shaders to the vendor, so that guardians can get more diverse in that aspect in return.

I don't know. On one hand I am always looking for ways to build and improve my characters. On the other hand, I don't want to be pressured into using a particular cloak.

Maybe a perk, or maybe a stat boost. Hell, maybe both. I'd love an exotic cloak for my hunter though :D

I think our ships should give use perks and bonuses like 'laughing behind your back' could give bonus dmg when you attack an enemy from behind

3 RepliesOh agreed. I believe they will, eventually. I really don't think anything was put into this game as a dead end. Ships, class items... they might not be much now, but they will be down the road. That's his Bungie rolls, I think.

2 RepliesI honestly rather it just stay an aesthetic item. I hate having to wear a faction cloak to earn reputation. Adding perks would break it down to the point where people are even all wearing the same cloaks more so.
