We all know that Gjallarhorn is head and shoulders above the other exotic rocket launchers and pretty much any other weapon in the game in PvE. This is a problem. It's a problem because it conflicts with Bungie's solid stated design philosophy of there being no "correct" loadout in playing the game. As it is you are simply not as effective in high level PvE if you don't have Gjallarhorn equipped. It is a problem because players who were lucky enough to have it drop have an unfair advantage over players who have not. No other exotic drop that they might have gotten will make them an equal help to a team as Gjallarhorn. This effectively devalues other exotics simply because they are not Gjallarhorn. I could go on, but it should be clear to everyone who is honest with themselves that Gjallarhorn's power is unhealthy for game balance and, as a result, fun and diversity. [b]But I don't think Gjallarhorn should be nerfed.[/b] That would just make a lot of people feel bad and bitter. Plus I would have to avoid this forum for like a week because of all the complaining. Instead, I think its peers should be buffed. Here are my suggestions for how the other two exotic launchers could be buffed: [b]Truth[/b]: Increase ammo capacity to 9 rounds regularly and 11 with a heavy ammo buff. This continues the trend we saw when truth was buffed to a mag capacity of three and it now competes with Gjallarhorn for the sheer amount of rounds you can put downfield, even though each one is still less powerful than a Gjallarhorn round. [b]Dragon's Breath[/b] Have it leave behind a GIANT solar flare that is the same size as the rocket's blast radius. This means that bosses will take more damage as they'll take longer to walk out of the flare, and Dragon's Breath will gain extra utility as the ultimate crowd control weapon. With these buffs people could viably choose one of these weapons over Gjallarhorn and everyone would be happy to have more opportunity to diversify their playstyle! I don't think these changes will actually happen as I am but a lonely poster on the forums, but I thought I'd like to share the ideas. So tell me what you think.
