What do you guys think of this!? I've been noticing a HUGE decline in my friends who play Destiny still! Most of my REAL LIFE friends all stopped playing except me and others whom I met online have quit as well! Two of my old clans have vanished! My friends list slashed in half!
EDIT: out of my old clan and 182 friends on PSN, all of which used to play destiny, there are 72 online and 2 of them are playing Destiny! So if this trend continues its going to be slim pickens! I feel like its getting worse by the day! **PLEASE BUMP THIS UP so Bungie will see this!***
Why do you think players are quitting? Do you know of anyone else who has quit? Chime in let us know why you will quit playing or not? Cheers!

I'm considering quitting this game. The loot system rewards the worst players and a lot of people say that's because if you're on top you don't need gear. What that says is those guys are always going to suck and getting cool & rare gear will make them a god against those who devoted time, money and patience to learn new skills and tactics and get good. We're on top because we learned skills, earned gear and put in time to get there and level up. We want good gear and legendaries because we performed better after devoting time, money and patience and it's not fair that we perform our best and actually THINK about what the smartest moves are instead of bull rushing with a shotgun or assault rifle against 3 players of the boss surrounded by yellow bar enemies and we live and save the team a instead of meleeing devil walkers thinking "Yeah, snipers and rockets take a while so a knife that deals 5% of their damage is totally gonna do it and make me look like a pro to the rest". They act stupid and don't even try or lag and are inactive and get in your way so you get the crud. Amazing Bungie, I didn't know that because I'm 315 and would like 320 from IB that terrible teammates with 0.20 KD at 320 totally needed 320 gear. Screw that. Teammates flat out sucks. Matchmaking means I get an average 1.5-2 KD so I should face an experienced Trials Team with average 5 KD and maxed out or near maxed out gear and subclasses and get wrecked and not enjoy myself at all. Matchmaking also brought laggers, red and yellow bars and it takes forester to get a roster to fight in skirmish. Seriously, it used to take less than a minute, not it takes 2 minutes or more. The players all play their hardest too going sweaty and Destiny is meant to be a casual FPS with awesome abilities and guns that SOMETIMES gets intense and competitive. There is no doubt there are competitive games but Destiny is now trying to be like fast paced COD with crazy powerful guns and abilities making it ridiculous. Also, you come with so many idiots in strikes that just bull rush yellow bars with no abilities and lowest light in the group who get one shot then do the same crap again, revive you in front of the Boss, die and you have to restart. And again. And again. They just act stupid and get better gear too... It's pay to play. I play on PS3 so I don't have to pay PS Plus to do most of the activities on Destiny. Wait, you mean I bought TTK Legendary Eddition for PS4 for $40-60 and now have to pay more money to do most of the content that I ALREADY payed for? Yes, yes I do. Seriously, you shouldn't have made PS4 with current capabilities if you sell it for less and need money. What the heck? Make it for less and better quality than PS3 but not top tier like PS4 then charge for more so you don't get that stupid issue. All I all, find out what PS Plus is then add that to what you THINK TTK costs and you get over 60, maybe 100 for all I know. And guess what, you get 2 expansions most year 1 veterans already bought so technically, you're paying 60-100 for 1 expansion... It's stupid, now Rise of Iron is coming out only for next ten. I understand why it is not for legacy consoles because of fps, quality, etc. but what the heck? I've heard Bungie will make Rise of Iron somewhat like next gen version for legacy but not completely. So basically they're saying "you want full content, then buy ps4 or Xbox 1 with ps plus and Xbox live. You'll still get ripped off unless you're a hardcore destiny gamer with money to spend-just like I was, except take away the money. I loved this game people, I'm not a stupid hater, I'm a year 1 veteran getting sick of the same stuff over and over-but you won't get more ripped off of content." Lack of content. Where you might have gone for campaign in the beginning, shoot hordes, take cover, get heavy, use super and snipe boss gets old real quick and the lack of regards and quality is underwhelming. Seriously, new story means 5-10 new missions, 3-5 bosses, new enemy or an enemy with some new reskin and ability and more stuff to shoot at. Same ghost scans this, ghost scans that, "uh oh, the taken and give are coming, get behind that rock and pull out snipers and rockets and hope for the best. Yeah, pull out that sniper and let the boss have it!" It's underwhelming and boring. PVP is the only reason and that's sweaty with game modes and the same maps over and over. The quests and bounties suck. Seriously chaperone requires you to go have an exotic that most need to grind for with 10% chance of getting. Then you need 100 kills with TLW equipped and this is how it goes. 1 kill means 1 percent. 1 death means score it, you're back to 0. -1! With sweaty games and terrible teammates you're sure to be a god if you can get this done WITHOUT fireteam, friends, SRL. I have 48% but that's because I always pick fights I can win and I keep going down to 40 and back to 48. It's ridiculous. Thorn was 1 kill means 5, 1 death means -2. In the end, if you go positive you can do it. Just 1 MD average and you're good. Chaperone? Hope you die 1-3 times a round with 40-50 kills on average. Then guess what? Kill ultra with shotgun. 1 ultra is 6%. That's a total of 16-17 Ultra killed and you can only do that by dealing with stupid hordes and using time on a mission to get to the ultra. It's time consuming and ridiculously stupid to earn and finish with more underwhelming rewards. I love this game but it's getting stale and I'm not paying 400-500 on next gen console to pay another 60 for my legendary edition of TTK then pay 30-40 for Rise of Iron. All in all that's $400-600. WITHOUT TAX! :) DINT FORGET PS PLUS AND XBOX LIVE! This game just feels like a grind now. I'm considering Overwatch, COD, Crysis... I'm losing interest and this pay to play is stupid. Also, I've become noticeably more rude and impatient playing this. It's been fun and I like PVP but gosh, this is just stupid... Thanks for understanding if you do and I hope you understand if you don't right now. I really loved Destiny but now... Not so much.

Ok. Let me start off by saying that i loved destiny and thought it was a great game. I put in over 2100 hours into it. Didnt get my first gally till 1586 hours played but I was determined to get one. I have 3 maxed characters, all of which are fully geared with all top tier weapons (gally, fatebringer, black hammer, IB, vision, etc...) just so i dont have to use the app to switch weapons. I was fully dedicated and loved helping players get thru the harder content and making things easier for them. I had friends telling me that when they tried to run PoE's or Weekly content with PUG's that they could easily spend hours struggling with the content but that with my help we could bang it out in half the time. This was the payoff for all my hard work and time invested. Now Bungie announces that they will be nerfing all weapons across the board because they don't like the elitist attitude they are seeing on forums that we're created outside of the game and how players are being shunned for not having the best weapons in the game. Well tough shit! This is how MMO's in general are. In order to get into any endgame guild or raid party in any MMO you have to jump thru hoops. Alot of them want you to submit an application with your level, class, description of what gear you have, and if you have any referrals from current guild members. Its a whole process. Bungie doesn't understand this. They have ventured outside of the comfort zone of just making standard FPS's and have now entered the world of MMO's where your gear MATTERS! This is not a bad thing. It's just another arena. When you make a game that has elite weapons and gear, your going to develop a community that have elitist. So what's their solution to this problem that they have no experience in dealing with? Lets just nerf everything so that now even the part time players don't feel left out and make it so that pretty much no weapons in the game feel special. They don't want fully geared guardians blowing thru their content and making it look easy because that's not how the game is supposed to be played. They want you to spend hours in PoE's and raids struggling and wiping to get your rewards. Even though I had all the best weapons and could easily get thru the content, I was still playing mad hours. When you consider I already have to do all the PoE's, weekly's, nightfall's, and raids not ONCE, but 3 TIMES because I have 3 toons, I was spending mad time on the game already. Well thats not good enough for them. Now my character needs to be nerfed so I can spend even more time on their game. Screw that! Don't sit there and tell us that you don't like the idea of matchmaking for endgame content and that that content is meant to be be ran with your close friends and not strangers (they actually said this!), and make it impossible to find a group in game, and force the community to make third party lfg websites in order to find groups. Then sit there and monitor those sites that you have nothing to do with and look at patterns you don't like and then decide that your gonna change the game because you have a problem with how WE decide to form our groups. If you don't like it, then freaking add matchmaking in the game and make our lives easier. For those who don't care about what weapons people have, they can use this tool. For those that do, they can go outside your game and make w/e kind of party they want to make. And whether or not the nerf update is because they want to level the playing field for all players is debatable. Are they really doing this because they genuinely care about under geared player having a chance to find a group or are they really doing this because they want to push the new weapon line coming out with TKK?? Funny how they announce the weapon nerf and then the following week release all the info about all the new weapons coming out with the next DLC to try to get you excited about what lies ahead. It's all a bunch of BS. Why not add matchmaking, and then be creative and come up with better ideas for boss fights that make your elite weapons not so elite. Having the boss in PoE that changes his elemental shield was a good example of this. The gally wasn't OP against him at all. Make a boss thats immune to rockets or some shit! idk. just think outside the box and come up with a better solution then just "ummm, lets just make weapons mediocre so people don't strategize based on gear and make it so it doesnt matter what weapons you have and that way everyone can get an invite and it will take them twice as long to get thru the content. yeah. thats a GREAT idea! When MMo's release DLC's, the add new armor, weapons, raids, etc.... all of which is higher level and harder to get thru without undermining all your current hard work and time invested. You keep your level of power going in and its still a struggle already without being nerf'd on top of it. Thats why they don't do it!! Players would jump ship quick if this was the trend. Anyway, I've moved on to other games and had my time with destiny. It was fun. And yes i'm sure I will be seeing a lot of comments like "good riddance" but that isn't constructive and doesn't help make Destiny better. Maybe if enough people are willing to take time out to let them know how they feel, they will take notice. Bungie does seem invested in this franchise and they do seem to listen to the community. So i'm posting this in hopes that maybe someone out there is listening and not so much for the trolls on the forums. So troll away. idc really. I cared enough about this game that I felt obligated to at least give honest feedback before completely moving on. v Guardian13 v signing off.......

Destiny has had its time in the limelight, same old grinding day in day out, house of wolves was atrocious dlc, prison was good for 2 weeks then was boring as fook and the rewards were not worth the grind at all! Bungie made a huge mistake when they favoured trials over the PoE. Both activities should be on par reward base and player base, I used to play with around 10 - 12 people daily. Now not one of us plays destiny. It's a shame as I do rate destiny but they need to stop favouring certain players and make the game best for both pve and Pvp.
-
They're unhappy with the game, or they found something else they rather be doing
-
I think not having the 6 Raids with HoW left a lot of the PvE only players light of content. Yes PoE is fun but don't think it has the replay value that the Raids do.
-
If TTK is another let down im moving on, im glad other people are throwing money at the screen so I dont have to
-
I will stop at TTK because I don't like the ever changing gameplay requirements/mechanics
-
1.RNGesus does not care about them 2.They don't like repetition 3.They like balanced PvP 4.Expensive Those are all the things I've heard my friends say about the game.
-
-Content gets repetitive -major balancing issues -dlc is expensive -it's boring doing the same thing or fighting the same thing game in and game out.
-
Out of my friends, most of them are annoyed at Bungie's whack-a-mole nerfing philosophy.
-
Coz bungie failed to deliver on promises dlc after dlc. Dont fix bugs only exploits lagfest of pvp etc. I myself am giving bungie one last chance with the ttk if that fails to deliver then i will b following 3/4 of my friends list in quitting destiny
-
Because the content is stale. People will start coming back when TTK drops. Then the population will decline again. If TTK is as bad as the last dlc a lot more people will stop playing.
-
Players aren't properly rewarded for the time they invest.
-
oasis said it best:
Feel like it's a slap in the face that they are rendering everything we've done useless.. Just bc they can't make weapons any better than they've already made them.
-
My whole Clan is leaving and so am I
-
Edited by smashbad: 8/11/2015 6:38:47 PMSplatoon and Reaper of Souls. Sorry TTK. Edit: Actually not sorry. This game has -blam!-ed me for long enough.
-
-
Because they can't stand to not be able to fatebringer/black hammer/gjallarhorn their way through everything
-
Needed a break man I love destiny don't get me wrong but the super heavy grind and having every single exotic 100% leveled and all the legendaries I want to level leveled crucible just gets annoying with the lag it's still fun though and doing strikes and Poe makes me want to shoot myself with the lack of replay ability
-
Because it is insane to believe that Destiny is the only game worth playing. If they have nothing to do in the game, they should be playing something else.
-
I'm taking a small semi break until the taking king.
-
They'll come back for ttk. There isn't that much to do right now but wait.
-
A lot of my friends are not playing at the moment. We are all day one-ers, and have done all that we wanted to so far. Majority will be back in Sep. So did your friends quit for good, or will they b back for Ttk?
